Description

This monovarietal wine is produced from carefully selected and hand- harvested grapes of Encruzado from our vineyard in granite soil at an average altitude of 600 meters in the foothills of the Serra da Estrela mountain range. The Quinta da Bordaleira 1.993m is the genuine expression of the terroir of our major Encruzado parcel and rested three months in 225-liter French oak barrels after completing its fermentation in stainless steel tanks. We make this wine only in the best vintages as a homage to the traditions and beauty of Serra da Estrela, which hosts the highest peak in mainland Portugal at an altitude of 1993 meters (1.993m).

Usage/maintenance instructions

Hand-harvested and manually sorted grapes. After total destemming, cold pre-fermentation maceration in stainless steel tank and then pressing. Fermentation starts in the tank under controlled temperature and continues in the oak barrel with regular "bâtonnage".
