The products made by Germitasty use fruit as their raw material and, whether they are jams, jellies, etc., they always have a minimum fruit content of 60 per cent. Through our artisanal production methods, we are able to obtain our products free of artificial colours and preservatives.

Germitasty was set up with the aim of improving the management of some family-run agroforestry properties, while enhancing the value of regional produce. Its current focus is the blueberry from Sever do Vouga and the physalis grown in the Águeda region.

After a few years of growing and commercialising the berries ‘in natura’, the need arose to add value to the production and, for around two years, we studied and tested methods of processing the berries.

Gradually we created new products, such as jams, compotes and jellies, always obtained by adding natural raw materials, such as aromatic herbs, fruits, but never by adding essences synthesised in a laboratory.
